Noor Al-Ashiqeen
MAHDI FOR PROGRAMMING AND INVESTMENT
Noor Al-Ashiqeen is a free app for followers of the school of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them). It brings together prayer times according to Jafari jurisprudence, the Holy Quran, and books of supplications and ziyarat. The interface is in Arabic. There are no ads, no accounts and no purchases, and the app collects no data for tracking or analytics. PRAYER TIMES • Nine daily times: Imsak, Fajr, Sunrise, Dhuhr, Asr, Sunset, Maghrib, Isha and Midnight. • Calculated with the Leva Institute (Qom) method through AlAdhan, with midnight according to Jafari jurisprudence. • A countdown to the next time; times for yesterday, today and tomorrow. • Automatic location, a list of cities, or manual entry of a city and country. • Adjust each time by up to 60 minutes earlier or later, and choose which times appear on the main screen. • An option for summer Fajr in Scandinavian countries. ALERTS AND ADHAN • A separate alert for each time, on or off. • Seven adhan recordings, the device's default alert sound, or an audio file from your device. • The notification plays a short clip of the adhan (29 seconds at most); the full adhan plays when the app is open. • A reminder of religious occasions at the time you set. • Optional daily reminder: a verse, the salawat or a saying. THE HOLY QURAN • The complete text in Uthmani script (114 surahs), with a surah index showing juz, hizb and page. • Tajweed colours with a guide to each colour, switched on or off with one tap. • Mushaf page numbers inside the text. • Search in surah names and verse text. • Reading bookmark, favourite verses, adjustable text size, copy, and share as text or as an image. • Tafsir al-Mizan by Allamah Tabatabai for the selected verse. • Quran text from the Tanzil Project (tanzil.net). SUPPLICATIONS AND ZIYARAT • Mafatih al-Jinan by Shaykh Abbas Qummi, followed by Al-Baqiyat al-Salihat: supplications, post-prayer devotions, ziyarat and the acts of the months, indexed and searchable. • Al-Sahifa al-Sajjadiyya: 83 supplications and whispered prayers of Imam Zayn al-Abidin (peace be upon him). • Favourites, reading bookmark, text size, copy and share in both books. • The supplication of the day on the main screen, by weekday. ISTIKHARA WITH THE QURAN • Istikhara in the app, or by entering the page number from your own copy of the Quran, with its etiquette and the transmitted supplication. • The verse comes with a general note and notes on transactions and marriage. QIBLA • A compass showing the Qibla direction, the distance to the Kaaba and your coordinates. RAKAAT COUNTER AND TASBIH • A counter for rakaat and prostrations that uses the phone's proximity sensor, with a manual button. • A digital tasbih for Tasbih al-Zahra (peace be upon her) and for free dhikr. CALENDAR • A monthly calendar with Hijri and Gregorian dates, the month's occasions, and the prayer times for the day you select. • Adjust the Hijri date by one or two days to match the crescent sighting. MORE • A Home Screen widget showing today's times, the next time, the date and the next occasion. • Light and dark appearance. • Save settings and favourites to a file on the device, and to your own iCloud when signed in, and restore them. • A hadith of the day from Ahl al-Bayt and selected short sayings on the main screen. PRIVACY Your location (coordinates, or a city and country) goes to AlAdhan for prayer times, with no name, account or identifier; with automatic location, Apple's service names the city. A daily reminder comes via Google Firebase Cloud Messaging with a push token not linked to you or used for tracking; switch it off in Settings. The rest is kept on your device and, with iCloud, in your own iCloud; nothing goes to the developer. . ABOUT This is the iOS edition of the Noor Al-Ashiqeen app for Android, developed by Talal Nahle, and is published as a free, charitable work.
