The table Four players form two partnerships; your partner sits opposite you. Play goes counterclockwise with 32 French cards: A, 10, K, Q, J, 9, 8 and 7. The player to the dealer's right leads. Scoring the hand Card points plus the last trick's 10 make 162. Win all eight tricks for a capot: the last trick is worth 100 instead, making 252. Including belote, the taker's partnership must score strictly more than the defenders. Otherwise the defenders receive all base points. Scores are exact, without rounding. This game's rules Classic French Belote without sequences, four-of-a-kind announcements or no-trump/all-trump contracts. A tied contract fails; no points are carried forward. The usual target is 1000, with 501 and custom targets available. At hand end, the higher total wins once the target is reached; equal totals require another hand. Partners never share hidden cards.
