BlitzBuddy: GPS Speedometer
SN Web
BlitzBuddy warns you about speed cameras and average speed checks, and shows your speed next to the speed limit, so your eyes can stay on the road. Camera warnings work in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France and Türkiye (see the notes on local law below). In the Netherlands you also get live traffic and the overhead signs above the highway. Every feature is free. No ads, and you don't need an account. WARNINGS YOU HEAR IN GOOD TIME • Fixed speed cameras and red-light cameras, announced by voice • Average speed checks with a live coach: your average so far, how much room you have left and the highest speed that keeps you under the limit until the end • Your speed next to the speed limit, with a tone when you go over • Overhead matrix signs in the Netherlands, drawn the way they hang above the road: closed lanes, temporary limits and the end of restrictions • Traffic jams with length and delay, road work, closures and incidents • You choose when: Early, Smart or Late, or camera warnings only when you're speeding BUILT FOR DRIVING, NOT FOR TAPPING • Keeps warning with the screen off, next to your music or navigation app • Starts by itself when your phone connects to your car over Bluetooth • Speaks through your car speakers and can turn your music down while it talks • Large buttons that disappear on their own: there is nothing you have to tap while driving • Keeps estimating your position in tunnels • Fixed cameras are stored on your phone, so they keep working without signal • Live Activity on the Lock Screen and a Home Screen widget REPORT WHAT YOU SEE Report a traffic jam, an accident, an object on the road or a broken-down vehicle with one tap, or tap the microphone and say it. Drivers who pass by confirm or clear it. KNOW WHERE YOU ARE • Road number, direction and the nearest hectometer or kilometer post • Crossing a border? BlitzBuddy welcomes you with the local speed limits and a handy tip, like a vignette or a low-emission zone, for 20 countries • Search and turn-by-turn navigation, showing the speed cameras and average speed checks on every route YOUR TRIPS Distance, time on the road, times over the limit and a driving score per week, month and year, with the cameras and average speed checks you passed. Delete one trip or all of them whenever you like. WHERE IT WORKS Renting a car in Europe? Here is what works where: • Netherlands: speed cameras, red-light cameras, average speed checks, speed limits, live traffic jams, road work and closures from official road data, live overhead signs, hectometer posts and navigation • Belgium: speed cameras, red-light cameras, average speed checks, live traffic in Flanders and navigation • Türkiye: speed cameras, average speed checks, speed limits, live traffic in Istanbul and navigation • Germany: fixed and red-light cameras, live Autobahn traffic, kilometer markers and navigation. German law (§ 23 (1c) StVO) forbids drivers to use speed camera warnings while driving; switch them off under Profile, Warnings. • France: fixed and red-light cameras and most average speed checks at their exact location, live traffic and navigation. French law (Art. R413-15 Code de la route) only allows danger zones; using these warnings is your own responsibility. • Everywhere else, including the US, the UK, Ireland and Switzerland: no speed camera warnings. Your speed, your trips and reports from other drivers still work. PRIVACY Other drivers only see your reports, never your name or your route. Sign in with Apple, Google or email to take your trips to a new phone. In English, Dutch, German, French and Turkish, and the voice speaks your language.
