AVDB is an independent archive of Aston Villa Football Club, built over many years by one person, one record at a time. Every competitive match the club has played. Every player who has appeared. Every manager, every referee, with the numbers behind each of them — appearances, goals, assists, cards, points per game, the lot. Line-ups, substitutions, scorers, minutes, attendances and venues, with a written account of the match where one exists. WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT The records here aren't scraped from anywhere. They are the result of years of archive work, cross-checking published reports against the club's own history, and correcting the errors that get copied from site to site. Where the evidence is thin, the app says so rather than inventing a number. A DAY IN VILLA'S HISTORY A long-form piece for the date you're reading it — the matches, the debuts, the final appearances, the players born that day, written properly rather than assembled from a template, with original illustrations. A new one every day, delivered each morning. Included in the app. No adverts. No tracking. No account to create. No subscriptions and nothing further to buy. One purchase, and all of it is yours — every match, player, manager and referee record, and a written piece for all 365 dates. AVDB is an independent archive. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Aston Villa Football Club.
