Two things happen in every practice session: you find a note, and you wonder how that sounded. Ancora is both, on one screen, so you can stop juggling a piano app and a voice recorder full of untitled clips. LISTENING MODE Ancora hears the whole session. When something goes right — or goes wrong — tap Hear it again and it plays back the phrase you just finished. Breaths inside the phrase are kept. The pause before it is not. You never have to remember to press record. RECORD MODE Prefer to decide for yourself? Tap Record, sing, tap Stop, and it is ready to play. IT KNOWS SINGING FROM TALKING A conversation in the room is not a phrase, and Ancora will not offer it to you as one. It reads how the sound itself is moving, not just how loud it is. A PIANO THAT STAYS OUT OF THE WAY A full keyboard along the bottom, scrolling under your finger. Play a key to find your starting note: those seconds can never end up inside a recording. Put on headphones and that rule lifts, because then the microphone cannot hear the piano at all. EASY TO JUDGE Every playback is levelled to a comfortable, consistent loudness — the same target streaming services use — so a quiet mark and a full-voice high note both come back at a level you can actually assess, without reaching for the volume. KEEP THE ONES THAT WENT RIGHT The last ten takes wait in a row under the trail. Star one and it stays for good, ready to send to your teacher, your coach, or your accompanist. RECORDED PROPERLY Mono, 24-bit, at your microphone's own sample rate, with the automatic gain control iOS normally applies switched off. The raw take is saved untouched alongside the levelled copy you listen to, and both are plain WAV files you can reach in the Files app. NOTHING LEAVES YOUR PHONE No account. No server. No analytics. No advertising. Ancora makes no network requests at all — your voice stays yours. Built on arc, the audio engine Impulse Arc uses for professional recording work.
