Contrée — Belote Card Game
Nicolas Zanette
Contrée is a four-player game of Belote Contrée, the classic French trick-taking card game: you (South) and your partner (North) against two opponents. The rules are the ones played around a real table, with nothing simplified away. THE FULL RULES • Bidding from 80 to 160, then Capot (250), with a choice of trump suit. • Contre, or double (×2), and Surcontre, or redouble (×4). • Strict play obligations: follow suit, ruff, and overtrump when required. • Belote and Rebelote (King and Queen of trumps): +20 points, flagged on screen. • Last-trick bonus, scoring to 162, standard order and values (Jack 20, Nine 14, Ace 11, Ten 10). THREE LEVELS OF OPPONENT • Easy: perfect for learning the game or getting back into it. • Normal: an even match, like a game at the local café. • Hard: the AI remembers every card played, tracks the master cards and draws trumps. BUILT FOR COMFORT • Adjustable target score: 500, 1000 or 1500 points. • Permanent info bar: current trump and each team's trick points. • Automatic save: pick your game back up whenever you like. • Statistics, a complete rules screen, sound and haptics (both optional). • Vector card art, crisp on every screen. • Fully accessible with VoiceOver. PLAY ONLINE, FOUR-HANDED Take on other players through Game Center, in a quick match or by inviting friends. Empty seats are held by bots, and if someone leaves the table a bot steps in: the game never stops. FREE, NO ACCOUNT No in-app purchases, no account to create. The game is funded by advertising: a banner on the home screen, and an ad between some rounds — never while you are playing your cards. Solo play works offline.
