Offline Messenger: Nearby Chat
INFINITY LOOP SRL
Nearby is the offline messenger for the people right around you. Send messages, photos, and group chats with no internet, no cell signal, and no Wi-Fi network to join. Your phone connects directly to the phones nearby, so you can keep talking on a plane, at a festival, underground, or anywhere the network gives out. No account. No phone number. No servers in the middle. Open the app, see who’s in range, and start chatting. WHY NEARBY • Works without internet: phones connect peer-to-peer over Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, no router, data plan, or roaming needed • No sign-up, no email, no phone number. Pick a name and an emoji and you’re in • Nothing you send passes through a company’s servers. Your chats are stored locally on your device • Works in airplane mode too: just switch Bluetooth and Wi-Fi back on • Reaches people roughly 100 meters away, depending on your surroundings • No ads, no tracking, no analytics FIND PEOPLE AROUND YOU • A live radar shows everyone in range at a glance • Send a wave to break the ice. They can wave back or start the chat • Messages from someone new arrive as a request: accept to reply, or deny to block them • Watch people come and go in real time as they move in and out of range • Signal bars in your chat list show how strong each connection is CHAT WITHOUT A CONNECTION • One-on-one chats and group chats with everyone in range • Add people to a group at any time, and only the people in it can read it • Share photos straight from your camera or library over a fast peer-to-peer Wi-Fi link • Follow every message from sent to queued to delivered, so you always know what got through • Step out of range? Nearby holds your messages and delivers them automatically when you reconnect • Bluetooth keeps your chats reachable in the background, with notifications when a message arrives PLAY GAMES OFFLINE • Five two-player games right inside a chat: Tic-Tac-Toe, Four in a Row, Gomoku, Reversi, and Matchsticks • Moves travel over the same direct link as your messages. No game servers, no matchmaking, no internet • Walk out of range mid-game and your move waits, then lands when you’re back • Each game comes with a quick How to Play • Games unlock with a one-time purchase, and only the player who starts a game needs it. The other player always plays free PRIVATE BY DESIGN • Choose who can see you: everyone in range, only people you’ve chatted with, or nobody at all • Invisible mode lets you see the room without anyone seeing you • Auto-forget clears a chat 24 hours after you part ways, or turn it off to keep your history • Block anyone from the chat menu, and erase every chat and contact on your phone whenever you like BUILT FOR EVERY SCREEN • Ready for iPhone Duo: fold or unfold mid-chat and pick up exactly where you left off • Use Nearby in portrait or landscape on iPhone • On iPad, your chat list and conversation sit side by side • Available in English, Spanish, and Russian PERFECT FOR • Flights and airplane mode, cruises, ferries, and long train rides • Festivals, concerts, stadiums, and packed venues where the network buckles • Camping, hiking, ski trips, and remote spots with no cell coverage • Subways, tunnels, basements, and dead zones with no bars • Campuses, conferences, and classrooms • Traveling abroad with no data plan or roaming • Beaches, cabins, and rural areas with spotty coverage • Anyone who just wants to text the people standing next to them HOW IT WORKS Nearby uses Bluetooth and peer-to-peer Wi-Fi, the same local radios your iPhone already has, to find other Nearby users close by and link to them directly. There’s no internet connection involved and no cell tower in the loop. Your messages go from your phone to theirs, and that’s it. Both people need Nearby installed and within range. Keep the app open for the fastest connection; Bluetooth keeps chats reachable in the background. Nearby: the simple, private, local way to message the people around you. No signal required.
