Last Bus Home is a short, warm interactive story about an alpaca named Wool. He finishes a long shift downtown and has to cross the city before sunset to catch the last bus back to Pasture Springs. Along the way Wool meets a small cast of helpers — Henrietta the hen, Otto the otter, a cheeky raccoon, Pip the pigeon photographer, Granny Fern the knitting sheep, and Bert the bus driver. Each of them needs a small favour, and each favour is a small puzzle. The journey is broken into short stops. You read the dialogues, then play a quick mini-game tied to the scene. Tap in tempo at the metro turnstiles. Piece a torn city map back together. React to a stranger reaching for your pocket. Develop a polaroid in a tiny darkroom. Untangle a basket of yarn before walking on. Every stop ends with a small keepsake from the person you helped. They live in your Journal, so you can look back on the walk at any time. There is also a Photo Studio inside the Cast page. You can take a picture or pick one from your library, drop the characters onto it as stickers, drag, rotate, resize them, and save the result back to your photos. The story is calm, the puzzles are bite-sized, and the whole walk takes under an hour. It is a nice thing to spend a quiet evening on.
