Doku: Metrodoku & Pokédoku
Sacha Hamiche
Northern line, crossed with "Zone 1". One cell, two criteria, one name to find. Angel works. Morden doesn't. That's Doku. A 3×3 grid, nine cells, and at every intersection an answer that has to satisfy the row AND the column. Same idea as sudoku, except you fill it with metro stations, countries or heroes instead of digits. ▶ FIVE UNIVERSES Metrodoku: Paris, London, New York. Lines, terminus stations, boroughs, interchanges. Geodoku: countries, capitals, and now the 101 French departments and the 50 US states. Flags, currencies, languages, state capitals, coastlines, rivers. Loldoku: League of Legends champions. Pokédoku: all 1025 species. Dotadoku: Dota 2 heroes, nicknames included. Type "cm" or "antimage" and search keeps up. You choose which ones appear on your home screen. Hide the rest, without losing any of your scores. ▶ ONE GRID A DAY The same one for everyone, with its difficulty announced before you start. ▶ THE ORIGINALITY SCORE Everyone answers King's Cross. Answer something else. The rarer your answer among today's players, the more it scores. A grid finished in thirty seconds with the nine obvious answers is worth very little. ▶ STREAKS, FRIENDS, LEADERBOARD Miss a day and the streak goes back to zero. Add friends and compare today's grid cell by cell: you find out fairly quickly who was bluffing about knowing the metro. ▶ FREE PLAY As many grids as you want, easy to expert, offline included. ▶ WHEN AN ANSWER IS REFUSED The game doesn't just say no. It shows which criterion isn't met, restates the rule, and displays the real value for your answer. You learn something from every miss. ▶ DOKU+ Zero ads, scoring for your free games, every possible answer and your stats vs. everyone, every past grid, unlimited riddles and a streak protected for two days. No account needed to play: open the app, start a grid. Terms of use: https://doku.happyapp.studio/terms
