Memento Mori: Time Left Widget
Sergey Li
Your year is 365 dots. Some are already gone. One of them is today. Memento Mori turns the time you have left into a quiet grid of dots, in the app and in widgets on your Home Screen and Lock Screen. Dots behind you fade. Dots ahead of you stay bright. The dot you are living right now is marked in colour. It is a daily reminder rooted in Stoic philosophy: your time is finite, so spend it on purpose. WHAT YOU SEE • Year: every day of the year as a dot, or every week • Month: laid out like a calendar • Week: seven days, four parts each • Day: 24 hours • Life: add your birthday and see your whole life, one dot per week Each view shows how much is left, as a percentage and in plain words: "85 days left". Prefer to count what has passed? Tap the number. WIDGETS • Home Screen widgets in small, medium and large • Lock Screen widgets: circular, rectangular and inline • Choose what each widget shows: year, month, week, day, life, or all four at once • A separate Stoic Quote widget • Works with the tinted and clear Home Screen styles • Six accent colours for the current dot, or plain white STOIC WISDOM, TWICE A DAY A thought from Marcus Aurelius, Seneca or Epictetus appears in the app and on the large widget, and changes every 12 hours. More than 240 quotes on time, mortality and how to live. "While we wait for life, life passes." — Seneca PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account. No ads. No tracking. No notifications. Your birthday stays on your device and is only used to draw your dots. Available in English, Russian, German, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean and Chinese. Quotes are in English. Memento mori: remember that you will die, so that you remember to live.
