"Lapas po lapo" (Page by page) is a reading-challenge idea that a couple came up with and later turned into a website. The idea is simple: read books not only for enjoyment but so they become topics for conversation and inspire shared experiences. How does a challenge work? You choose as many books as there are people reading. Each person picks a book for someone else. One person reads one book, another reads another; when you’re done, you swap. While reading, you don’t tell each other anything about the books. When you’re finished, you meet in a chosen place to discuss them. The place often becomes part of the challenge: we discussed the Neringa Architecture Guide in Neringa itself, Walden at a remote forest cabin, and Haruki Murakami’s work in a Japanese-style café. So that ideas from reading wouldn’t get lost, we built this site. Here we write down what we want to bring up in discussions. Over time it has become not only a place for our notes but a space we want to share. Maybe it will inspire you to create your own reading challenges, discover unexpected topics for conversation, or look at books differently—as a way to grow together, page by page.
