TurnIt: Navigation for KTM
Turtle Slap
TurnIt is an independent, unofficial app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or associated with KTM AG, Husqvarna Motorcycles, Google, TomTom, OsmAnd, Kurviger, Calimoto, Organic Maps, CoMaps, or Locus Map. All trademarks and product names are the property of their respective owners and are used only to describe compatibility.
🏍️ YOUR NAVIGATION, ON THE DASH
TurnIt mirrors turn-by-turn directions from the navigation app on your phone to the TFT dashboard of compatible KTM and Husqvarna motorcycles: the maneuver arrow, the distance to the turn and the road name: right where you are already looking.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Connect your phone to your bike in Android's Bluetooth settings, then pair the bike in TurnIt.
2. Grant notification access so TurnIt can read your navigation app's directions.
3. Start navigating and ride. TurnIt forwards every turn to the dash and clears it when you arrive.
Everything runs on your phone. Your routes and notifications never leave your device. TurnIt talks only to your own motorcycle over Bluetooth. No account, no ads, no tracking.
FREE
• Turn-by-turn display from Google Maps
• Both dash generations: Gen 2 (Bluetooth Classic) and Gen 3 (Bluetooth Low Energy)
• Music on the dash: see the current track while you are not navigating
• Handlebar media control (Gen 3): volume, track skip and play/pause from the bike's own buttons
• Two app themes: KTM Orange and Husqvarna Blue — switch any time
• Connection status and easy reconnect when you open the app
⭐ TURNIT PRO — ONE-TIME PURCHASE, NO SUBSCRIPTION
• More navigation apps: TomTom GO, OsmAnd, Kurviger, Calimoto, Organic Maps, CoMaps and Locus Map — several with full offline maps and routing, so you need no mobile data on the road
• Low-power background sync: TurnIt reconnects automatically when you switch on the ignition, with virtually no battery drain
• Multi-bike: pair several motorcycles and switch the active bike with a tap
• Remap the handlebar buttons: put volume, track skip and play/pause where you want them
LANGUAGES
English, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil and Portugal) and French. Pick a language in Settings or let TurnIt follow your phone.
COMPATIBILITY
TurnIt works with KTM and Husqvarna motorcycles whose TFT dashboard supports the turn-by-turn navigation display:
• Gen 3 dashes — 2024 and newer models (developed on a 390 Duke; also tested on Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 and 801)
• Gen 2 dashes — earlier TFT models (developed and tested on a 2022 390 Adventure)
Note: on some models the manufacturer did not enable the dash's navigation display, which TurnIt cannot add. The navigation option in the dash's menu must be on. Unsure about your bike? Try the free Google Maps mode before buying Pro.
💡 GOOD TO KNOW
Roundabouts: most navigation apps tell TurnIt only which exit to take, not which direction it points. TurnIt works the arrow out from the exit number, assuming four evenly spaced exits, so it is right at roughly seven out of ten and can point noticeably off at an unusual one. The exit number is always exactly what your app said, and the dash shows it in front of the road name: trust the number, read the arrow as a hint. With Google Maps, TomTom GO and Kurviger, TurnIt reads the arrow image itself and shows the real direction.
Media control uses the dash's own Remote Control Mode. While it is on, the handlebar buttons talk to your phone instead of the dash menus. The Information screen explains both points.
PERMISSIONS
• Notification access — to read turn-by-turn directions from your navigation app. Used only for that; nothing is stored or uploaded.
• Nearby devices (Bluetooth) — to find and connect to your motorcycle. Not used for location.
• Notifications — to show the connection status while the bridge is running.
