Korona Gór Polski PLUS
Klub Zdobywców Korony Gór Polski
The Crown of Polish Mountains+ is an additional program for those who want to explore the Polish mountains even more deeply.
The classic Crown of Polish Mountains includes 28 peaks belonging to individual mountain ranges. In many cases, however, Poland's geography leaves room for debate. Depending on the adopted mesoregional division, current peak height measurements, and scientific studies, different peaks are sometimes considered the highest in a given region.
The Crown of Polish Mountains+ program was created with such places in mind. It is not based on a single publication or the views of a single author. It is the result of analysis of numerous scientific studies and presents peaks that are identified in the literature as the highest, or the highest according to other physiogeographical divisions of Poland.
It is not an attempt to change or replace the classic Crown of Polish Mountains. The program is cognitive and educational in nature. It demonstrates that in some cases, there is no single, universally accepted position, and that different sources indicate different peaks. This allows you to visit places that rarely appear in popular lists, better understand the geography of the Polish mountains, and form your own opinion about the differences found in the literature.
The list of peaks in the program can be expanded and updated as new studies and research results become available. The Crown of Polish Mountains+ is an open project aimed at popularizing knowledge about the Polish mountains and encouraging the discovery of lesser-known, yet often equally interesting, places.
This is a proposal for those who, after conquering the classic Crown of Polish Mountains, want to go a step further and look at our mountains from a broader, scientific perspective.
