Play the classic Dutch card game *Pesten* now on your phone!
*Pesten* is the most beloved and notorious card game in the Netherlands and Flanders. With this app, you can play it together around the table in a unique, modern way using your own smartphones and a central screen!
⚠️ IMPORTANT: How does the game work?
This is a local multiplayer game (LAN). To play, you need multiple devices connected to the same Wi-Fi network (an active internet connection is not required):
1. The Table (Host): Start the game on one central device (for example, a tablet or larger phone) and place it in the middle of the table. This screen displays the draw pile, discard pile, and direction of play.
2. The Players (Clients): The other players start the app on their own smartphones.
3. Automatic connection: The smartphones automatically search for the Table on the Wi-Fi network. One tap of the button and you join in! Your phone only shows your own secret hand cards, so no one can peek. The Rules You Know and Love (or Hate!)
This app follows the real, traditional rules of the game:
• 2 (Two Draws): Send the next player to the draw pile for two cards!
• Joker (Five Draws): The ultimate nuisance card. Draw five cards and decide the suit.
• 7 (Seven Sticks): Did you roll a 7? Then you may play another card immediately.
• 8 (Eight Waits): Skip the next player's turn. So in a 1-on-1 duel, you get to go again immediately!
• Jack (Choose Suit): Change the trump/suit to Hearts, Diamonds, Clubs, or Spades.
• Ace (Reverse Direction): Reverse the direction of play and surprise your opponents.
Unique Features & Challenges:
• Nuisance on Nuisance (Chain Reactions): Are you being attacked with a 2 or a Joker? Defend yourself by placing a 2 or Joker on top of it. The penalty cards are piling up lightning fast! Can the next player not defend? Then it's time to draw cards...
• Knock for your Last Card: Do you have only one card left? Then don't forget to press the "Last Card" button in time! If you forget and the next player starts their turn, you immediately receive 2 penalty cards.
• You are not allowed to stop playing Pesten: Do you think you can win with a Pesten card? Watch out! Ending with an Ace, Joker, 2, 7, 8, or Jack is strictly forbidden. If you do this anyway, you immediately receive 2 penalty cards and simply continue playing.
