RangeFinder
XENOTRONIC
Leave the laser at home.
RangeFinder estimates distance using your phone's camera and any known-size reference object — a steel gong, a soda can, a golf flagstick, a fence post. Point, bracket, read. No laser hardware required.
HOW IT WORKS
This app is built on stadiametric ranging — the same principle behind the PU scope mounted on the Mosin-Nagant sniper rifle. If you know an object's real height and how big it appears in frame, geometry gives you the distance. Your phone's camera field of view is known precisely, so the math is exact, not a guess.
Point your camera at a reference object near your target. Bracket its height with two adjustable lines. The app instantly calculates distance using your phone's known field of view — corrected automatically for uphill or downhill angle using the gyroscope.
BUILT-IN REFERENCE OBJECTS
Steel gongs (8", 10", 12"), soda cans, 2-liter bottles, paper plates, 5-gallon buckets, standard 8.5x11 paper — all ready to use. Don't see what you need? Measure your own object and save it as a custom reference, stored right on your device.
FREEZE FOR PRECISION
Live mode updates continuously as you aim — fast and responsive. FREEZE mode captures the current frame, angle, and zoom so you can bracket the object precisely on a perfectly still image. No hand shake, no drift. Best accuracy when it matters most.
ANGLE-AWARE
Every measurement includes the shot angle alongside slant range and angle-compensated distance — useful whether you're calculating ballistic drop, range-finding from elevated terrain, or just need an accurate horizontal distance.
ZOOM WHEN YOU NEED IT
Discrete zoom levels (1x, 2x, 4x, max) let you get more pixels on a distant object for tighter accuracy — no fumbling with pinch gestures while trying to hold a steady shot.
MULTI-USE
Built for hunters and shooters, but the math works for anyone who needs a distance estimate from a known-size object — golfers ranging flagsticks, surveyors checking rough distances, outdoor enthusiasts sizing up terrain.
FULLY OFFLINE
No internet required. No account. No subscription. No ads. No data collection. Your custom reference objects live entirely on your device.
