■ Dictionary Content Information ■
- The Iwanami Japanese Dictionary, 8th Edition, is the latest edition of the Iwanami Japanese Dictionary, which has sold a total of 9 million copies since its first publication in 1963. All entries have been reexamined, covering "100 years of Japanese" up to the present day. This is a fully revised version of the "7th edition" that is even easier to use, with a focus on "modernizing the content" to reflect changes in the Japanese language in the 10 years since the publication of the "7th edition," and "modernizing the way word definitions are written" to make the dictionary easier to understand and use.
- Also pays attention to fields such as science and technology, cooking, sports, and nursing care. 2,200 new entries are included, totaling approximately 67,000 words.
