Stop driving 200 km only to return with an empty basket.
sporas.io is the mushroom hunter's tool for deciding where and when to go into the mountains: a mushroom map by species that tells you the probability of fruiting in each area of the Iberian Peninsula. It combines the recent weather, the terrain and forest characteristics of each location with years of observation by mycologists to give you a heat map showing the probability of mushroom growth.
RAINFALL, ACCURATELY
------------------------------
For mushroom hunters, it all starts with water, and sporas.io tracks it in detail: it combines the forecasted rainfall with the actual measurements from AEMET rain gauges and the SAIH networks distributed throughout the Peninsula. Whether it's the weekend front or the storm that only hit your mountain range, the map knows how much rain has fallen in each area. And the weather stations are right there on the map—tap one and see its readings.
HOW IT WORKS
------------------------------
In each area of the Iberian Peninsula, sporas.io cross-references three layers of data, updated daily, and algorithms validated by mycologists generate the results.
* Climate — accumulated rainfall, temperature, humidity, and wind gusts of the last few days.
* Terrain — altitude and soil pH.
* Forest — the actual forest cover of each area: pine forests, oak forests, beech forests, holm oak forests, chestnut groves, meadows, and more.
Each of the 15 species in the mycological catalog—porcini, saffron milk cap, chanterelle, Caesar's mushroom, morel, black trumpet, St. George's mushroom, oyster mushroom, and more—has its own ecological profile and biotype: altitude, minimum rainfall, temperature, humidity, associated trees, and seasonality. That's why the map for saffron milk cap is completely different from that of porcini.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
------------------------------
* Species Prediction — Choose your mushroom and see the probability of fruiting cell by cell, with a multi-day forecast.
* Free Exploration — Define your own profile of rainfall, temperature, humidity, wind, and altitude, and discover which areas meet it.
* Climate Layer — Accumulated rainfall, temperature, humidity, and real-time rain gauge readings at any point on the map.
* Flora Layer — Where pine forests, oak forests, beech forests, holm oak forests, chestnut groves, and meadows are located, cross-referenced with soil pH.
* My Mushroom Spots — Save your favorite areas and check their forecast before heading out.
* Push and Email Alerts — sporas.io monitors your mushroom spots for you: daily notifications on your mobile phone when conditions are favorable and a weekly summary by email with the forecast for your areas, on the day you choose.

Mainland Spain, Portugal, and Andorra.
WHAT SPORAS.IO DOESN'T DO
------------------------------
It doesn't identify species or tell you if a mushroom is edible. It doesn't replace field knowledge or consulting an expert, and it doesn't give harvesting advice. It's a tool to help you decide where and when to go mushroom hunting, nothing more. Always respect the mushroom harvesting regulations of your autonomous community or region, and the permits and designated areas for each forest.
sporas.io doesn't replace your judgment in the field: it refines it.
