Gender Based Violence (GBV):

The concept of human rights acknowledges that every single human being is entitled to enjoy his or her human rights without distinction as to race, color, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth, or other status.

GBV violates universal and fundamental human rights, such as
- The right to life
- The right to personal security
- The right to physical integrity and bodily integrity
- The right to equal protection under the law
- The right to freedom from torture and other cruel, inhumane, or degrading
