The mushroom finder shows the Estonian state forests on the map, where spruce and birch forests usually grow. Forest data comes from the forest register: tree species, age and development class for each forest area.
WHAT THE MAP SHOWS
• 23,478 young spruces to discover spruce forests: young stands and broadleaved forests, where spruce is the main tree species.
• Young and middle-aged state spruces to find birch forests.
• Tap the area and you will see the tree species, age, height, proportion of spruce or birch and when it was last measured.
IN THE FOREST
• Save the map area to your phone before you go - the map and location also work without a satellite.
• You can see where you are on the map.
• The Google Maps or Waze button leads you to the forest.
• Copy the forest coordinates with one tap.
• Mark the forests you like as favorites and find them later in one list.
FREE AND PAID
The forest risk map is free and does not require an account. The spruce risk map across Estonia is an annual subscription via Google Play; to do this, log in with your Google account.
YOUR MUSHROOM LOCATIONS STAY WITH YOU
Your location is not sent or saved anywhere. Information about your favorite forests remains on your phone and is not analyzed by us.
FOR SPECIFICATION
A suitable forest does not mean that mushrooms are there right now - the map shows where they are worth looking for. The map shows state forests and other public forests; private forests are not shown. Forest register data can be several years old and the map indicates when the measurement is old.
Base map: Estonian Land and Spatial Planning Board 2025. Forest data: Environmental Agency, Forest Register.
