The "Landshut Wedding 1475" reenacts the wedding of Duke George the Rich and the Polish princess Hedwig and is one of the largest medieval festivals in Europe. Every four years, for three weeks, over 2,500 participants in meticulously recreated historical costumes captivate more than 600,000 visitors from around the world in the unique Gothic setting of Landshut. The historical reenactment "Landshut Wedding 1475" is recognized as both Bavarian cultural heritage and intangible cultural heritage of the Federal Republic of Germany. It uniquely combines history, tradition, and community spirit.
