IELTS Mentor AI is a paid iOS and Android app for Academic IELTS practice in all four skills: an AI examiner marks Speaking and Writing on the four official criteria and reports a band range, full Reading and Listening tests are marked the moment you finish, and one Skill Map shows what to fix next.
SPEAKING
Sit the full three-part test with the AI examiner (about 15 minutes in the app; the exam itself takes 11 to 14), or practise one topic at a time with follow-up questions in Topic Speaking. Every answer comes back with a band for each criterion (Fluency and Coherence, Lexical Resource, Grammatical Range and Accuracy, Pronunciation), reported as a range, with the sentences that moved it.
WRITING
Task 1 (Academic charts, graphs, tables and maps, and General Training letters) and Task 2 essays in a timed editor with a live word count. Each answer gets a band for each of the four criteria, what worked and how to improve, and an Examiner's Summary. Task 1 answers also get a Data Accuracy check that compares what you wrote with what the chart shows.
READING
Full Academic papers: three passages, 40 questions, 60 minutes, under exam timing or untimed. The review highlights the sentence behind every answer.
LISTENING
Full four-part tests with 40 questions. Exam mode plays each recording once; Practice mode lets you pause and replay. "Hear it again" replays the line the answer came from, and the transcript opens at that line.
ONE SKILL MAP
Every test feeds one map of your English: articles, tenses, cohesion, collocations, prepositions, word form and more. The Skill to Fix First puts the critical errors that appear in 80% or more of your responses at the top. Review Due brings back what you fixed just before you would forget it, on an FSRS spaced-repetition schedule (FSRS is an open-source algorithm). Quick Wins pick your next session.
FOUNDATION TRACK AND VOCABULARY
Not ready for a full test? The Foundation Track is a daily path of about 10 minutes for candidates around Band 3 to 5, with three levels that unlock in order. The vocabulary trainer covers over 1,100 IELTS words, each with a definition, an example sentence, its collocations, its word family, audio and a CEFR level.
WHAT IT IS NOT
The app reports a band range, not an official score. It is not an official IELTS product and is not affiliated with IELTS, IDP, the British Council or Cambridge. The General Training Reading paper is not included. The interface is in English; the website explains the app in eighteen languages. It runs on iPhone and Android phones; there is no web version.
PLANS AND CREDITS
IELTS Mentor AI is a paid app. Every practice session uses a set number of credits. A subscription (one week, one month or three months) adds credits at the start of each period; a one-time credit pack adds credits once and does not renew. Prices are shown in the store in your currency before you buy. A subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends; cancel in your Google Play subscription settings, and you keep access until the paid period ends. Unused credits roll over while a subscription is active, pack credits included, and expire 30 days after a subscription is cancelled. Refunds come from the store that took the payment.
