Sprawl Crawl is a geography quiz built on real satellite imagery. Each game gives you ten places, one image at a time, and asks a single question: which city is this?
HOW IT PLAYS
Start typing and the list narrows as you go, or reveal five options for half the points. Rounds are worth more the smaller and more obscure the place, so recognising Tokyo earns you far less than pinning down a twelve-thousand-person town in Finland.
PICK YOUR OWN DIFFICULTY
Begin with the world's million-plus cities, then push down to towns of 10,000 people where there's nothing to go on but the shape of a street grid and the colour of the fields around it. 33,604 places are in play, across 193 countries.
PLAY THE WHOLE WORLD, OR ONE CORNER OF IT
Choose the world, a continent, a region, a single country — or drill right down to a US state, a Japanese prefecture, a Brazilian state or an English region. 407 sub-national divisions across 19 countries, and you can combine several at once.
CHALLENGE A FRIEND
Send a link and your friends play the exact same ten places you did. Everyone lands on one shared scoreboard, so it can be settled properly. Works for two people or a whole office or classroom.
LEADERBOARDS
Every difficulty and every area has its own global leaderboard. Take on the world at 10,000-person towns, or just quietly top the Denmark board.
