Sheikh Muhammad Al-Alam Al-Dukali was born in 1949 in Libya, in the village of Awlad Al-Alam in the city of Misrata. He received his Quranic education from his father. He attended the Asmari Institute in Zliten and then the Malik ibn Anas Institute in Tripoli, specializing in Islamic Studies. He obtained a teaching certificate in 1972 and a degree in Sharia and Law from the Islamic University of Al-Bayda in 1978. He worked as an imam and preacher at the Balamin Mosque in Tripoli and as a Quran teacher at the College of Islamic Call. He is considered one of the most prominent Quran reciters in Libya and North Africa. He led the Taraweeh prayers at the Moulay Muhammad Mosque, which were broadcast on Libyan channels, and participated as a judge in international Quran competitions in Libya and Morocco.
