OmuType: Cantonese AI Keyboard

OmuType is an Android keyboard for Hong Kong that mixes Cantonese and English: speak or type both in one sentence without switching keyboards. Cantonese voice typing (speech to text), Quick, Cangjie, Jyutping, Stroke and handwriting, all in Hong Kong Traditional Chinese.

CANTONESE + ENGLISH, SPOKEN
Hold the mic, speak, let go. "我 send 咗個 Figma link 畀你，你 check 下先" comes out exactly like that: English stays English, Cantonese stays Cantonese, never Mandarin written forms or Simplified. Then OmuType hears the sentence again and swaps only the misheard words in place. One tap undoes it.

CANTONESE + ENGLISH, TYPED
• English candidates sit in the same row as Quick, Cangjie and Jyutping: type nei for 你, type send for send, no 中/英 switch
• Write on the keys: draw a Chinese character right on the letter keys. Tap for English letters, write for Chinese, mix them freely
• Auto spaces between Chinese and English, and English autocorrect (mucgbitter → much better)

✦ A SECOND READ BY AI
Tap ✦ and AI reads your message the way the recipient will: 倉蠅同速成 becomes 倉頡同速成; names and punctuation are tidied. WhatsApp keeps your shorthand, email gets tidied. Your tone and words stay.

SAID IT WRONG? SAY THE FIX
Say "not Mandy, Wendy" (唔係 Mandy，係 Wendy) and only that word changes. Or say "shorter" (短啲), "in English" (用英文), "more polite" (客氣啲) or "send it" (send 出去, asks first). One tap undoes any change.

QUICK, CANGJIE, JYUTPING, STROKE AND HANDWRITING
• Quick (速成) types whole phrases: ofvdrf gives 你好嗎. Pick the "跟 Windows" order and 竹戈 7 = 我, just like on a PC
• Cangjie (倉頡): every 3rd- and 5th-generation code works, radicals shown on the keys
• Two at once: Quick + Cangjie, or Cangjie + Jyutping
• Lazy Jyutping (粵拼): no tones needed, tinlau gives 填漏
• Stroke (筆劃): five stroke keys
• Handwriting (手寫): write in two boxes in turn, no stopping to pick; recognised on your phone
• Next-word suggestions that know Hong Kong words: 綜援, 港鐵, 唔該
• Hong Kong Traditional, never Simplified, in Hong Kong glyphs: 裏, 着, 為

GESTURES
• Swipe left to delete word by word; nothing goes until you let go, and a swipe right brings it back
• Or choose swipe typing: glide over the letters to type English words

KEYWORDS: THE MORE YOU ADD, THE BETTER IT HEARS
Add the names and brands you say, and voice matches them by sound: 卡神 comes out as Kason. Add a word from any app's text menu, or paste a list from ChatGPT or Gemini.
