Kader Viewfinder turns your Android phone into a professional director's viewfinder. Frame shots in real-time using real cinema sensor formats, focal lengths, and aspect ratios — all without carrying extra equipment to set.
Note: This app is currently in development and some users may experience bugs. Unfortunately, NOTHING OS currently lacks support for multi-camera usage. NOTHING's development team is aware of this and is planning on adding support in the future but has not offered a time frame.

FULL FOCAL LENGTH RANGE
Dial through standard cinema focal lengths from ultra-wide to telephoto. The viewfinder calculates and displays the equivalent field of view based on your selected sensor, giving you an accurate representation of your final frame. The current Android camera ecosystem requires a focal length limit of 999mm full-frame equivalent.
CINEMA ASPECT RATIOS
Frame in any standard cinema aspect ratio including 2.39:1, 1.85:1, 16:9, 4:3, 1:1, and more. The viewfinder overlays your selected ratio in real-time so you can compose with confidence.
CUSTOM LENS KITS
Build and save your own lens kit to match the glass you're shooting with. Quickly switch between your lenses on set without scrolling through options you don't use.
PROJECT & SCENE ORGANIZATION
Create named projects & scenes to keep your shot references organized. All captured frames are saved to your device gallery, grouped by project with automatic folder creation.

Every captured frame is saved with a professional metadata strip showing the project name, date, time, sensor format, focal length, and aspect ratio — making it easy to reference shots in pre-production and on set.

A NOTE ON ACCURACY
The sensor dimensions, focal lengths, and aspect ratios used in Kader Viewfinder are dynamically sourced from your device’s camera metadata to be as accurate as possible, and the field-of-view calculations are mathematically precise. However, due to the vast number of Android devices on the market — each with different camera hardware, lens configurations, and sensor characteristics — absolute pixel-perfect accuracy across every device cannot be guaranteed. Minor discrepancies may occur between the viewfinder preview and the true equivalent field of view.
To account for this, Kader Viewfinder includes a focal length offset/calibration feature that lets you fine-tune the viewfinder to your specific device in 1mm increments. If you notice the framing is slightly tighter or wider than expected, simply adjust the offset until it matches a known reference. Once calibrated, your device will deliver consistent, reliable results across all sensor and lens combinations.
