In the event of a cardiac arrest, the SAVE A LIFE application, connected to the Urgences Santé 144 central office, triggers the immediate intervention of the nearest First Responders. The network now has more than 2,000 active First Responders in the canton of Geneva.
In 2022 and 2023, the effectiveness of the emergency chain and the impact of the First Responders in Geneva resulted in a survival rate in good neurological condition greater than 20% for all causes of cardiac arrest, compared to 10% between 2009 and 2012.
