Open in StoreEver caught yourself doodling on a piece of paper and wondering, "What would these squiggles sound like if they could play?"
Draw Music Maker: Doodle Pad answers that question. Touch the canvas, drag a line, hit Play — and your drawing becomes a real melody. No lessons, no note reading, nothing to carry but one finger.
HOW IT WORKS, IN 3 STEPS
1. Draw: Sketch any stroke — a wave, a zigzag, a spiral, an animal, or a few scattered dots. Follow your mood, or pick a ready-made template to get started.
2. Listen: Hit Play. The higher your line, the higher the note; the further right it goes, the later it sounds. Every shape produces a phrase all its own.
3. Tweak: Add more, draw over, erase a bit, until the tune feels right. There's no "wrong" button, only different versions of one idea.
Behind the canvas is a 32 x 20 grid: the horizontal axis is time, the vertical axis is pitch. Every stroke snaps into the right cell, right on beat, so even a shaky or hurried hand still sounds tidy and steady.
NOT SURE WHAT TO DRAW? START WITH A TEMPLATE
Staring at a blank canvas with no idea where to begin? Doodle Pad comes with a rich library of ready-made templates: birds, animals, landscapes, people... plenty to explore.
Pick one, hit Play to hear it "sing" right away, then make it your own: add strokes, draw over it, swap instruments, change the tempo or the scale. A template is only a starting point — where it ends up is entirely up to you.
DRAW IT WRONG, IT STILL SOUNDS RIGHT
This is what makes composing easy even if you know zero music theory. Every note is matched to the scale you choose (Pentatonic, Major or Minor), so the melody always sounds pleasant, with no harsh or clashing notes.
Want to change the whole mood? Try this:
- Switch the Root note (12 choices) to move the whole piece higher or lower.
- Change the scale: Pentatonic sounds clear and airy, Major sounds bright, Minor sounds deep and moody.
- Drag Tempo from 40 to 240 BPM, from a slow ballad to a driving dance track.
MANY INSTRUMENTS TO EXPLORE
The app ships with a rich collection of instruments: Soft Key with its gentle electric-piano tone, Marimba with its playful wooden mallet sound, Warm Synth with its cozy pad, Bells with their shimmering chimes... and many more.
Every instrument has its own ink color. Draw in several colors on the same canvas to build a layered arrangement: a main melody, a warm bed underneath, a few sparkling bell notes on top. Newer strokes always draw over older ones, so you can edit freely without getting tangled up or starting over.
SIMPLE TOOLS, SMOOTH CONTROLS
- Undo stroke by stroke, or Clear to start fresh
- Loop to hear your piece repeat while you compose
- Toggle the colored grid cells to see every note you've drawn
- Works completely offline — open the app and draw, anywhere
SAVE IT AND TAKE IT ANYWHERE
Happy with what you drew? Export it as:
- WAV file: real audio that plays on any device and any music player. Send it to friends, use it as a ringtone, or as background music for your videos.
- MIDI file: lightweight, and ready to open in music software so you can keep editing and grow it into a full track.
WHO IS IT FOR?
- Anyone who has never touched an instrument but always wanted to try composing a melody of their own.
- Music makers who need to sketch ideas fast before rebuilding them in professional software.
- Parents who want kids to explore pitch and rhythm in a visual, playful way.
- Teachers and students looking for a lively tool to explore music in the classroom.
- And anyone waiting for a bus, sitting in a café, or relaxing at night who wants to pass the time creatively.
Music doesn't always have to start with a piano or a sheet of notes. Sometimes it starts with a spontaneous doodle.
Open Doodle Pad, draw a line, and see what you "compose"!
