What is the Digital Envelope Method?
The Digital Envelope Method combines the best of both worlds: the simple, proven classic envelope method for budget control – and the modern, time-saving digital recording of your expenses.
Many people prefer to keep track of their budget using actual envelopes: For each category – e.g., groceries, leisure, or household – there's a separate cash envelope budget, which is planned monthly. The principle is ingeniously simple: When the envelope is empty, the budget for that month is used up.
