GPxplore: GPS Track Recorder
Appsgpg
Record, edit, and manage your GPS tracks and routes, stored as standard GPX files in a folder you control. Works offline once map tiles are cached. No cloud, no account, no subscription required. Built for hikers, cyclists, trail runners, and drivers.
RECORD YOUR ROUTES
Start recording with one tap. GPxplore runs in the background, survives phone calls and screen-off, and keeps GPS alive with a wake lock so no points are missed. Tracks are automatically named with the date, time, and nearest city.
Choose from built-in presets (Sport, Hike, Cycle, Drive, Power Saving) or build a Custom one with full control over interval, distance filters, and accuracy thresholds.
Drop waypoints as you go. A Kalman filter smooths GPS noise in real time.
MANAGE YOUR LIBRARY
All your tracks live in a clean library with search and sort. Plot multiple tracks on the map together. Rename, recolour, share, or delete from their card. GPX files imported from other apps appear automatically.
Deleted tracks go to the Recycle Bin. Restore them any time before permanent deletion.
TWO MAP SOURCES
Switch between Google Maps and OpenStreetMap. OpenStreetMap supports three styles (Standard, Cycle, Transport) and works fully offline once tiles are cached.
EXPLORE AND DISCOVER
Switch on the fog of war and watch the map clear as you move. Every track in your library reveals the ground it crossed. See how many km² you have explored across your entire history.
Switch on the heatmap to see which areas you visit most. Density runs on a logarithmic scale so one frequent route does not wash out the rest.
ANALYSE YOUR TRACKS
Detailed stats for every track: distance, max speed, moving time, average speed, pace, elevation profile, ascent, descent, slope, and more. Share a full summary as an image.
EDIT YOUR GPX FILES
Inspect and edit every point. Trim, split, merge segments, add and move waypoints, undo freely. Works with any GPX file from any app, not just GPxplore recordings.
YOUR DATA, YOUR FOLDER
Tracks saved as standard GPX files in a folder you choose. No lock-in. Export your entire library as a ZIP for backup or transfer.
MULTILANGUAGE
Full interface in English, Spanish, Catalan, French, German, and Italian, with a built-in tutorial in all six languages.
