ECHOCAT - Ham Radio Remote
Casey Stanton
ECHOCAT is the mobile companion for POTACAT, the desktop app for amateur radio operators chasing Parks on the Air, Summits on the Air, and DX. Pair ECHOCAT with your POTACAT desktop and operate your home station from anywhere on your local network.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
• Control your rig's VFO, mode, and band remotely
• See live POTA, SOTA, WWFF, and DX cluster spots
• Watch the Reverse Beacon Network (RBN) and PSK Reporter for your callsign
• Operate FT8 with JTCAT — tap-to-reply decoding, auto-sequencing, hold-TX-freq
• Send and receive SSTV images, compose photos from your camera roll, get notified before ISS SSTV passes
• Listen to public KiwiSDR and WebSDR receivers when you're away from your rig
• Track your DXCC progress and review your full QSO logbook
• Speak through your radio with PTT and built-in voice macros
POTACAT CLOUD (OPTIONAL SUBSCRIPTION)
Subscribe to POTACAT Cloud to back up your logbook and sync QSOs between your phone and every desktop you operate from.
• Cross-device QSO sync — log on mobile when your desktop is offline, watch it appear when you get home
• Cloud backup with full ADIF export
• Settings sync between devices
• Multiple computers, one canonical log
POTACAT Cloud is $4.99/month with a 30-day free trial for new subscribers. An annual plan is available at $49.99/year. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Free trials convert to paid subscription unless cancelled before the trial ends. Manage subscriptions in your Google Account settings.
WHO THIS IS FOR
You need a valid amateur radio license to operate. ECHOCAT does not transmit on its own — it controls a paired POTACAT desktop connected to your station equipment.
REQUIREMENTS
• An Android phone running Android 10 or later
• The POTACAT desktop app (free) running on your Mac, Windows, or Linux station computer
• FlexRadio SmartSDR over TCP, or any CAT-capable transceiver over USB serial
• A licensed amateur radio operator (FCC Technician class or international equivalent)
PRIVACY
ECHOCAT does not collect QSO content, callsigns, or location for advertising. Crash diagnostics are anonymized. POTACAT Cloud stores your logbook only — never your audio. See our Privacy Policy at potacat.com/privacy.
POTACAT and ECHOCAT are independent software, not affiliated with Parks on the Air (POTA), Summits on the Air (SOTA), or any radio manufacturer.
