MapCatch is a live GPS tracking app for outdoor events, races, routes and long-distance challenges.

Participants can record their position during an event, follow their own progress on the map, and share live race coverage with organizers, other participants and web viewers on mapcatch.app.

MapCatch is built for outdoor events where reliable tracking matters, including bikepacking races, trail events, expeditions, orienteering-style events and other route-based competitions.

Features include:
- Live GPS tracking during active events and recordings
- Route display, route progress and distance remaining
- Participant positions on the map
- Event leaderboards and progress metrics
- Event chat and location markers
- GPX import, export and sharing
- Track recording, pause, resume, merge and repair tools
- Event joining, leaving, rejoining and completion flows
- Organizer tools for participant management and official result correction
- Map display with cached viewed areas for smoother use

MapCatch can continue tracking while the screen is off or the app is in the background when you have started tracking or joined an active event. A persistent notification is shown while active tracking is running, and tracking can be stopped from the app.

Tracking in MapCatch is designed for shared outdoor events. When you track in an event, your live position, route progress, track, nickname and related event data may be visible to event organizers, participants, viewers with access to the event, and public event pages where applicable.

MapCatch uses your account email for login, account support and password recovery. Public event visibility is controlled by event setup and participation.
